Let’s look back to the first time there was more than one “version of the truth.” In Genesis 3 we see the tactic of the serpent. “He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say…?'” For the past 6000 years his tactic hasn’t changed. You can fill in the blank for any given circumstance. The only way to know what God really said is to read His word.
God is not a human who lies or a mortal who changes his mind. When he says something, he will do it; when he makes a promise, he will fulfill it.
If there is a conflict, it doesn’t come from God. He’s consistent. The enemy of truth is not, he will confuse and twist the truth in a new way for a new audience.
Yehovah, my strength, my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, saying, “Our ancestors inherited nothing but lies, futile idols, completely useless.”
We see this happening now. People are starting to question if the doctrines & “truths” they inherited are really what God wants us to be doing and believing. Thankfully, His Word has been preserved and new discoveries only continue to confirm its consistency. So dig into the Word and let Him reveal His truth to you.
Deal bountifully with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word.
Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Your law.
